The MSA Defenders Diamonds Cheer Program empowers young athletes to shine with confidence, strength, discipline, and pride. Our cheerleaders develop fundamental and advanced cheer skills while building teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and lasting friendships.

THE HEART OF A DEFENDER AWARD
The Heart of a Defender Award is presented each season in loving memory of Tara “Coach T” Burns. This honor recognizes an MSA Defenders athlete who demonstrates compassion, leadership, perseverance, academic responsibility, outstanding character and unwavering Defender pride both in competition and within the community.
Eligibility requirements
An athlete should:
- Be actively registered with an MSA Defenders program.
- Remain academically eligible and demonstrate effort in school.
- Display respectful behavior on and off the field.
- Demonstrate leadership, compassion, teamwork and perseverance.
- Have no unresolved serious disciplinary matters.
- Represent MSA’s values of Discipline, Execution, Excellence and Zeal.
- Receive parent or guardian approval before grades are verified.
